This degree is unique. It offers you the chance to develop career level circus theatre practices in a highly vocational way—one that prepares you not just to train, but to build a sustainable, innovative career in the arts.
You will develop high-level technique skills and performance craft alongside hands-on experience of choreographic practice and career development. You'll be regularly challenged to go beyond the ordinary, introduced to industry professionals, create your own profile and fully understand the business of Circus. You will look at the world of Circus Arts and Physical Theatre in a completely novel way.
Our aim is to produce skilled and innovative graduates who can redefine Circus Arts and Physical Theatre for the next generation. Learn how to rig safely, understand anatomy and physiology and prevent injury. Photoshoots, showreels, touring shows, networking and industry placements......you will be well equipped for a career in Circus Arts and Physical Theatre.
This course is validated by the University of Worcester and you will have access to Library Services, Student Support and digital services.
Aerial Acrobatics: Fundamentals

FEES & FUNDING
In 2026/27 the standard fee for full-time home and EU undergraduate students on BA/BSc/LLB degrees and FdA/FdSc degrees is £9,790 per year.

Tuition fees are reviewed annually and may increase each year for both new and continuing students.

OTHER COSTS
Day to day costs exist for printing, stationery and books.
As part of your course you may be required to purchase costumes for performance and specialist equipment such as Rosin/trapeze gaiters/wrist straps and any other small items relevant to specify trainings. You may also need to purchase show/event tickets where relevant.

A beautiful Grade 2 listed building nestled inside its own small private grounds, West Midlands Circus Centre is an old Quaker Meeting House, perfect for focused aerial training.
Our Big Rig has 7m's height and accommodates all kinds of aerial disciplines, including lunge line and counterweight facilities.
The Little One is perfect for acrobatics and flexibility in particular with a soft matted floor. The Little One also suits solo and partner training.

The gardens really make WMCC unique. Set in a highly accessible location, the surrounding gardens with oak trees, grassy spaces and a small pond, really provide the wellbeing spaces needed when doing focused training. The gardens provide a sanctuary to clarify your mind or just enjoy a coffee on those sunny days.
WMCC is disability accessible, equipped with an onsite coffee shop and large entrance hall with desks for study.
The Centre benefits from off street private parking and just 6 minutes walk from the busy Fiveways station and main Birmingham ring road.
WHERE we are
Just 6 minutes walk from Fiveways station and a few minutes from the bus and tram line, WMCC is easy to get to.
Surrounded by eateries, bars and coffee shops, we are also just 15 minutes walk from the City Centre Central Library.

There are plenty of affordable accomodation options close by and a quick bus ride to student centre, Selly Oak.
