WMCC- West Midlands Circus Centre, is dedicated exclusively to Circus Arts & Physical Theatre, in Edgbaston-Birmingham.
On a mission with international circus company, RoguePlay, to be Circus Arts training provider of choice by 2030.
Whether a hobbyist, aspiring performer or professional artist, WMCC delivers an Artistic Development Programme, BA (Hons) Degree in Circus Arts & Physical Theatre (new 2026) and community classes. All are inclusive, accessible and led by high-level international touring RoguePlay performers.

ABOUT OUR CURRENT AIMS:
Over the last 18 months we have placed inclusivity at the heart of our practice, running the most recent Make Me Visible Project. This project has propelled our visibility in the disabled and learning disabled world, and we strive to be inclusive and representative always.
2026 will see:
The introduction of a new class programme, working together with RoguePlay Theatre to build a unique physical theatre offer.
The start of the new BA Circus Degree course with open days and auditions- ready for start in September 2026
The delivery of newly funded project reaching out in our local communities and having long-term impact on the lives of children in poverty in our local area
Expansion and building of current onsite activities
JOB DESCRIPTION- ADMINISTRATOR
Responsible for the day-to-day management of the centre, including staff and space management and back end tasks: booking system, emails, scheduling. We require someone who enjoys being the dependable ‘lynchpin’ for a small and friendly team and well as the first point of contact for queries, customers and staff. Both WMCC and RoguePlay are ambitious organisations with ambitious plans, so a passion for your work and sharing our vision is essential. You will also be required to help out with events, work with Interns and work experience as well as manage the day-to-day centre within the parameters of this job role.
Employment Terms:
You will be required to work largely onsite, and we will agree working hours around any childcare (were applicable). As a result there will be some home working involved.
Starting Salary: £24,000 pro-rata 0.5
● Hours: 20 hours p/w (2.5 days)
● Place of work: Onsite with some remote working
● Probation Period: Three months (with one month notice either side)
● Period of Notice: Three months notice period following successful completion of probation
● Responsible to: CEO
● Pension: 3% pension contribution (NEST Pensions) - you have the right to ‘opt out’ of pension contributions and this will discussed.
● Annual Leave: 112 hours
● Due to the nature of the role, some evening or weekend work are required

Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
● To manage resources efficiently and ensure the company achieves value for money in aspects of its work you manage
● Direct management of processes including bill paying, purchase invoices, sales invoices, credit/bank card reconciliations, floats and expenses reconciliations
● Manage record keeping and online finance/banking systems (Xero) in Association with the accountant (training in Xero provided)
Fundraising & Evaluation:
● Act as the main point of contact for funders to ensure compliance with their requirements for monitoring, reporting and payment, communicating requirements to the wider team
● Identify and develop earned income opportunities
● To co-ordinate the company evaluation processes, ensuring that data collection and reporting are carried out as required
HR/Personnel:
● Manage and maintain personnel systems to ensure legal compliance (including contracts, inductions, DBS checks)
● Line-manage interns, work placements and volunteers
● Undertake appropriate safeguarding training to become one of the organisations Designated Safe Guarding Leads
Communications/Marketing/Audiences:
● Responsible for maintaining company’s mailing lists and databases
● Develop and manage data collection and other evaluation processes in collaboration with other project/programme managers
● Send out/oversee mailing out of education information, follow up and liaison with institutions to manage and increase bookings
Project Management:
● Assist the Artistic Director to initiate, manage and deliver specific projects, including sector development events, University open days and bespoke events
● Administration relating to project and touring logistics i.e. booking transport and accommodation
● Helping with the development and management of premises: including, Liaising with suppliers, contractors and staff, maintain relationship with the agent/ landlord, communicating with local community
Operations:
● Being the first point of contact for the company for both internal and external enquiries
● Responsible for management and maintenance of space facilities, monitoring all contracts and utility services
● Being an onsite presence for external hire/ensuring hires are covered ● Ensuring key holder agreements are signed and returned
● Oversee equipment hire and manage paperwork
● Ensuring key personnel have DBS/ First Aid certification and arrange if required ● Produce and upkeep calendars, schedules and staffing
● Responsible for maintaining office equipment including IT systems, equipment and contracts
● Responsible for monitoring, reviewing and updating all contracts and subscriptions to ensure they are up to date and effective
General:
● Advocate for the Companies (WMCC & RoguePlay) in all areas of work
● Attend key events, network meetings, productions and festivals to play an active role in raising the profile of the Company and its values
● Act to strengthen greater ethnic, class and gender diversity within the organisation, and across all activity.
● To work some evenings and weekends as required
● To carry out other such responsibilities as may reasonably be required
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
Essential:
● Demonstrable interest in performing arts and/ or circus
● Excellent administrative skills and attention to detail
● Highly organised with excellent time management skills
● Experience managing office systems, including IT systems, good computer literacy and a sound working knowledge of file sharing
● Experience working within a small but busy team to meet deadlines
● Experience in collecting and interpreting data to produce reports
● Excellent people and interpersonal skills, especially the ability to establish effective and positive relationships with a wide variety of people.
● Able to multi-task across a range of events and projects and meet deadlines ● Well organised with good analytical, presentational, verbal and written skills
