WHAT IS IT & WHO IS IT FOR?
Make Me Visible is a FREE project, creating a programme of the highest quality artworks and opportunities with, for and by children and young people with disabilities.
Make Me Visible will specifically engage and communicate with young people aged 5-25 years, with learning difficulties, hearing and visual impairments, from refugee backgrounds and those labelled as having Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities or Complex Disabilities. And for a great variety of sensory, cognitive, emotional, physical and cultural reasons are considered ‘hard to reach’. We will ensure inclusivity, raise aspirations, improve confidence, develop new skills and increase career pathways by nurturing creative expression.

Young people can be involved in workshops/performance and/or The Culture Crew. You don't have to do everything! But you can if you want!

-

THE CULTURE CREW
The Culture Crew is a group of 10 young people with disabilities (aged 5-25 yrs) as Programmers & Event Planners. The Culture Crew will be guided in programming decisions, budgeting, event management and marketing for the Make Me Visible Project at West Midlands Circus centre.
Together, The Culture Crew will design, create and manage two events onsite at West Midlands Circus Centre as part of their role. The first is sharing for friends and family that some of our disabled performers will be involved in. The second is the Christmas student showcase, open to the public and the final event in the Circus Centre calendar. The Culture Crew will run these events, planning what needs to happen when, help to set up, be in charge of photography and video, and manage box office, coffee shop and audience. Culture Crew members will be supported throughout by WMCC staff members and there is an opportunity to gain an Arts Award through this program.
